Sewing is the process of joining together fabric , fur , animal hides and other materials that can be pierced by a sewing needle and thread it can be done by hand or with a sewing machine.

The process of making a garment consists of three stages pattern making,fabric cutting and sewing 

PATTERN MAKING
In fashion design a pattern consists of garment components created on paper these are traced onto the fabric before it is cut and sewn a basic pattern is created based on the garment style with dimensions adjusted to the wearer’s body measurements.

FABRIC CUTTING 
after the pattern is pinned to the fabric the fabric is cut following the pattern’s outline .

SEWING 
once the fabric is cut the pieces are joined together using a needle or a sewing machine 

BASIC SEWING TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES 
Equipment includes needles , thread , scissors, a tape measure and seam ripper for removing stitches.
Pattern making can be done using flat pattern drafting or draping on a dress form.
Basic stitching techniques starting with the straight stitch which forms the foundation for all hand sewing stitches as a beginner you can learn to sew items such as shopping bag,hats,wallets and waist bag as well as garments like kebayas,shirt,dress,shorts etc.
